Our findings suggest that vCJD is unlikely to re-emerge at significant levels. However, ongoing case ascertainment and scrutiny remains critical due to uncertainties in non-MM incubation and potent...

In this new paper from @lizziehill35 PhD we demonstrate that syntaxin-6 regulates intracellular trafficking and export of misfolded prion protein, and that STX6 acts as a modifier of disease susceptibility rather than progression in established disease

It was a pleasure to host Sjors Scheres (MRC LMB, no longer on X) to hear about his work characterising the structures of brain protein fibrils in neurodegenerative diseases leading to new classifications and reconsideration of cell and animal models

This is a good job for people looking to do something a bit different and interesting. Esp those who might want to do PhD as great exposure to lab research meetings. Travel around the UK a couple of times per week to see patients - in depth assessments
