All of our wet labs are now registered with LEAF, a framework developed by #UCL to support sustainable laboratory operations. By participating in LEAF, labs reduce their carbon footprint, conserve resources and foster an environment that enhances research quality.

Today we opened the lab to ten children from the neighbouring school. They watched our robots, peered into the BSL3 labs, looked down a fluorescence microscope and learned about prions and science careers. Extraordinarily bright questions and attentive they were a delight to host

Ongoing confidence comes in part from knowing there is careful scrutiny of any cases of CJD to ensure vCJD or other possibly blood-transmitted prion diseases are not overlooked.

NHS patients receive first home-grown blood plasma treatments. We were pleased to advise the MHRA on this decision to use British plasma now the threat of blood-transmitted variant CJD has diminished. Important for resilience of our supply & the NHS budget
