MPIL mourns the death of Rudolf Bernhardt (29 April 1925 - 1 December 2021). He was a director from 1970 - 1993, a judge at the ECtHR from 1981 to 1998, founder of the Enyclopedia of International Law, and an outstanding man and scholar.
