The forced relocation of @USDA's research agencies is an attack on our federal workforce and a clear effort to stifle objective research when it's politically inconvenient. I'm leading my colleagues in urging Congressional appropriators to block any funding for this relocation.

“Because we’re concentrating on soil health, we’re set up to be much more resilient.” On the 'Centers of Insurrection' - h/t @NinaIchikawa - spreading slowly across California's Central Valley. https://t.co/sWrN3RTg7W

These farmers are finding ways to help their crops survive some of the ravages of climate change: drought, heat, and salty soil. And some of their newest ideas are actually the oldest.

We’re calling for an inspector general investigation into reports that the administration is suppressing scientific data about the effects of climate change. Substituting ideology for facts will only hurt our ability to prepare our food supply for climate change.
Climate change is already affecting agriculture in California. We need to know what to prepare for and how to mitigate risks. That’s why it’s troubling to see the Trump administration stifle USDA reports on climate change and our ability to grow food.

Climate change, apparently, isn't the only thing being buried by @USDA. Colleague @sreinhardtUCS writes about the great news on school lunches, and why it didn't get so much as a press release.

Several Dems have criticized @USDA over my story, including @SenAmyKlobuchar, @SenStabenow, @SenatorBennet, @SenatorLeahy & @AndrewYang.

USDA scientists lead the world in studying the impacts of climate change on our farmers and food system, but the Trump Adm. is burying their findings. While our farmers fight against #ClimateChange, #USDA is shamefully fighting against #science.

The Trump administration has refused to publicize dozens of government-funded government studies that carry warnings about the wide-ranging effects of climate change, defying a longstanding practice of touting such findings by USDA scientists. My latest:

The Trump administration has stopped promoting government-funded research into how higher temperatures can damage crops and pose health risks.

New independent analysis shows that @USDA’s decision to relocate @USDA_ERS & @USDA_NIFA will cost taxpayers more & undermine the important work done by both agencies. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the National Capital Region to prevent this harmful relocation.

Last week, USDA released "cost-benefit analysis" in order to justify their reckless reorganization of @USDA_ERS and @USDA_NIFA. Unsurprisingly, their analysis is inaccurate, incomplete, and raises even more questions. https://t.co/aHhgQwgfmo

Yesterday, #USDA employees stood in defiance as @SecretarySonny announced the next step in his reckless reorganization of two key research agencies. We stand with them against this anti-science, anti-farmer, and anti-research reorganization proposed.

Thanks to @fox4kc for having me. But since I only got 11 seconds of air, let's review. This relocation is: - Anti-farmer, anti-science, & anti-research no matter the selected location - Opposed by 74 bipartisan ag leaders, 108+ orgs, & 1000+ scientists https://t.co/NIhzpYE4Ld

This is an unacceptable attack on agricultural research and science that is likely to push experienced researchers out of public service. This not only hurts these workers and their families, but could have devastating impacts on America’s farmers as well. https://t.co/TtYkQp56gE

Almost a year after unveiling a plan to move USDA science divisions, the agriculture secretary has selected a relocation site.

Farm Aid stands in solidarity with USDA staff at NIFA & ERS. We rely on their research to create content that will help people understand farming and strengthen family farmers. We believe in science-based research & data. It's critical for farmers & everyone who supports them.
American Federation of Government Employees members from NIFA snd ERS turn backs on Agriculture Secretary Perdue at session on their unwanted relocation from DC to Kansas City area. #USDA
