Australian productivity is exceptionally low; Wage growth anemic; R&D investment non-existent. New bureaucratic decisions blocking employers from pretty modest requirements to attend the office 2-3x/week will mean that it's better to offshore jobs that can be done remotely.

If you attack an opposition party when they listen to you, you simply make them less likely to listen next time. This approach may give short-term perceived gains, but WILL bite you in the future. There's plenty to criticize without criticizing the good decisions!

Labor has been forced to backflip on super taxes that would have stung small businesses and captured average workers. Labor can’t manage money. They can’t be trusted with yours.

This update is reasonable. Indexed tax rates on earnings for large super balances (removing its use as a tax minimization vehicle for the ultra wealthy), but REMOVAL of the proposal to also tax unrealized gains. https://t.co/3EKxX9gpJZ

It's hard to be a #YIMBY when the only underlying planning is so vacuous and easily pulled apart. We need better development planning to actually get important projects actoss the line, and to get infrastructure into areas where needed.

I'm supportive of the #woollahra station; this article makes clear the planning is nonsensical. - Reject Edgecliff despite existing train station. - Plan for 10k (!) dwellings at W: 100 x 100-apt buildings - Rezone rose bay with ZERO transport infra https://t.co/Y5U1EmRwWJ

First the government defended not including Edgecliff in its transport-oriented development plan. Then it had another idea.

@AlexRyvchin I'm not going to the protest and don't particularly agree with the protestors or their tactics. But the choice is simple when discussing these police powers to block protests: We either believe in FREE speech or we believe in government PREFERRED speech.

@AlexRyvchin It's so frustrating that discussion of this issue is always couched around which specific lobby group supports or opposes the protest instead of the fundamental question: Should we as a society support a right to peaceful protest, even when it makes us uncomfortable?

@AlexRyvchin The "Executive Council of Australian Jewry" is one lobby group with a particular political view. "Jews against the occupation" clearly has a different view. Who is the rightful representative of the Jewish community? NEITHER. That's why supporting the protest is so important.

The argument made here by @AlexRyvchin represents a ridiculous overreach. Free speech is sometimes uncomfortable. Sometimes offensive. Sometimes deeply distressing. Democratic society is bound by support for speech and peaceful assembly, not by ensuring no one is offended

The police claims here are terrifying: they suggest that any large protest should be blocked on the grounds that it is...large. It doesn't matter if you agree with the topic or not. We cant let police stifle peaceful protest due to the scale of support https://t.co/ZdQCOoCztK
