In training, July miles lead to November gains.
In racing, meets are won in the last mile.
In HS and college, the championship teams are filled with juniors and seniors.
Rarely is there immediate success or benefit to being impatient.

We've got some really good people in this sport here in Michigan.
It'd be easy to nitpick, but that was about as well run a meet as you'll find. Major credit to Cody Inglis and his staff, as well as all the coaches and athletes that made it happen.

Thinking about creating the MIXCSR non-elite mile. Your PR has to be between 5:00-5:15 for boys and 6:00-6:15 for girls, you get your own jersey, swag, attention. Great opportunity to break 5 or 6.
They're just as important to a team as any elite runner.

Instead of just posting a picture and a meet schedule, tell the public what the team/athlete is looking to accomplish, delve into your athletes stories, etc.

Kessler can absolutely be a factor at the Trials.
We know he can:
- run in a pack
- handle the big stage at Hayward
- close off a slow pace
- close off a fast pace
- recover quickly (1:49 followed by 8:54 the same day)

Incredible cross country course setup over here in Webberville. Socially distant, but still allows parents to watch from their vehicles. Woods, fields, hills, terrain, variety of footing. This is what every course should aspire to be.

If football is higher risk than XC, it wouldn't make sense to move forward with football and force runners to wear masks while racing. Forcing runners to wear masks while racing would go hand in hand with no football.
My guess is the EO isn't specific enough.

1) lead vehicle of some sort
2) clearly marked course
3) volunteers at confusing areas
4) cones at confusing areas
If you can't fulfill these, you're not cut out for hosting.

National Signing Day got me thinking. I'll add a page that shows what runners in college ran in high school (as 9th, 10th, 11th graders too). That way if you see that X runner was a 18:50 guy as a freshman and now runs for Michigan, you know you have a chance.

I know it’s all subjective and what really matters is how the teams run in November, but I do appreciate that we have at least 2 people in the state who spend an insane amount of hours doing rankings and analysis of XC performances each week!
