@MIT This is great news - I've always been grateful for the financial aid I had access to as an undergrad at MIT. Talent is not distributed by wealth, so keeping great education affordable will be life changing to many.

@MIT Could my book, which proposes a novel solution to the hard problem of consciousness, be considered for recognition as an honorary PhD from @MIT? It builds on and leaps forward from the incredible work of many PhDs before me.

@MIT Yaaayyy!!! It's fantastic, and maybe also about time, as MIT is not just an option, but one of the absolute gems of learning and research on planet Earth. The ability for students of this calibre to attend should not be based on family income. (And dang, as we missed out!).

@MIT it's an entertaining idea, until the 55 year old with a 160 iq shows up... then it's an age discrimination law suit

@MIT Utilizing AI systems to identify people for admissions, recruitment, and collaboration enables broad application and use cases that we utilize the human resources we have most effectively. I hope people are working on this.

@MIT $200K boggles the mind. In my day, working class kids could afford a university without financial help. Tuition was about $1000.

@MIT Does this also apply for those who want/can only attend online? Or is it only for on campus admission?

@MIT This is phenomenal. Game changer for especially those from rural families. Thank you MIT and thank your supporting endowments that have made this possible.

@MIT Would love to hear how this is balanced against going back to requiring a standardized test....

@MIT It would be great if countries realize the way you are able to manage that βlossβ of income. I guess as an institution you need to have firm base to give that commitment to the society and the future generations.

@MIT Ya know, just because a family has over 200k, doesn't mean they're giving it to their kids.

@MIT More socialism everyone else who has to pay literally foots the bill, the MIT endowment is just a smoke screen to justify it, moving money from one pocket to another is just a fake out...
