So here's to the designers, content folks, engineers, and everyone else who made the party possible. Here's to YOU and our community. I'll be at @mbloomstein@mastodon.social and see what happens next. Until then, I'm channeling this guy: 80lbs of dog who's just happy to be here.

The fun of signing into a new app! That wants to use my old contacts! From an app I haven’t used in years! …where it turns out I only followed dog accounts. Yep, checks out. (And same handle here, there, everywhere.)

Farm-raised salmon are fed a diet of other fish, grain, chicken byproducts, and questionable filler, leading to higher fat and PCB contamination. Okay, now stop thinking about salmon and think about AI. https://t.co/rOB3Ueg3VO

It’s a practice that could introduce further errors into already error-prone models.

Despite boycotts, bomb threats, and shameless hate, here’s a little bright spot: our local Target still has its Pride display front and center. Retail sure won’t save the world, but it can embrace and normalize what others prefer to shove back into the closet. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨

Everything is a design problem, except design. Design is a culture problem.

Good storytelling—on television, books, exhibits, etc—nurtures trust through detail. We usually focus on how actors and writers weave the narrative, but the set designers and set dressers work just as hard, as shown in this behind the scenes look at #Outlander from @SamHeughan.
I know where I'm moving. 🤩 Join @SamHeughan as he gives us a tour of the Big House. 🏠 #Outlander Season 7 premieres Sunday June 18, exclusively on W. 🏴 Stream on @STACKTV.

“An email to Twitter returned an automated reply with a poop emoji.” I research and consult on how to foster trust, but sometimes the case studies just write themselves. https://t.co/CThhjG3zoj

"You get better responses if you have a big corpus of *really good content* to train the AI," per Chelsea Larsson on AI and content design. Many orgs miss this point amid layoffs: orgs that struggle with content will struggle with AI. It's not a Bandaid, but bleeding at scale.

"Where content designers are going to really have an impact is in knowing how AI models work, how they're trained, and how they're structured," per @pdstafford. "This is the perfect gap to step into: we are natural allies for ... language models."

TIL my email autocorrected to "hostess with the moistest" and if this professional relationship didn't just get weird, we both need glasses.
