“The vast majority of those dollars should have been spent here in Manitoba to increase capacity. It was not a system that was actually designed to be a failsafe, but rather to expand private healthcare” MHC’s Thomas Linner on the PC’s Task Force #mbpoli

The previous PC government spent millions sending patients out of province for treatment and some experts say the money would have been better spent investing in Manitoba's healthcare system.

💯! Private health care far too often = poorer health outcomes for patients. Paired with a complete lack of transparency & accountability to the public, privatization would spell disaster. We need to provide the best possible care, which means investing in our PUBLIC system.
You may be reading that privatization is the only hope for healthcare. The latest data should give you some pause. A new Harvard study showed that after a hospital is acquired by private equity, patients had a 25 percent increase in complications such as falls or new infections

A very brisk start to our Monday in #MB. Artic air pushes northern communities into the -30's this morning and #SouthernManitoba hovers near seasonal. 2-4cm of snow expected in #WPG as we can expect cooler temperatures for most of the week. #Forecast #MBStorm
