           🐾Bandit in action! Our new Comfort Dog is bringing smiles wherever he goes. From play time to quiet visits, Bandit is helping our staff find joy and calm while he settles in and continues training.  We’re proud to see him begin his journey supporting wellness across the DOC. 💙

             This new partnership will give incarcerated women the opportunity to earn college credits toward a Bachelor’s in Applied Liberal Arts through Boston College, helping to build the educational foundation for successful reentry. 🎓 We thank Boston College!

             🌟Commendation Spotlight🌟 Commissioner Jenkins recently recognized Officer Alexis Wuilleumier for her quick thinking and heroic actions while off duty, assisting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.              🕊️ Last week we came together to honor the 5th anniversary of the DOC's Always Remembered Memorial. This memorial, born from loss, has become a sanctuary of healing and remembrance, a place where the stories and legacies of our colleagues live on.💙

             📚 We’d like to thank @million_book and founder Dwayne Betts for partnering with us to expand access to literature inside our facilities. The Freedom Reads Project came to MCI-Shirley Medium to install bookshelves in 13 housing units, plus one for staff in our roll call area.

             👟The DOC’s Employee Assistance Unit hosted its 2nd annual Choose Change walk. The event encourages staff to break the stigma around getting help, take time for wellness and meet with local providers. The walk is just one way EAU supports staff in living healthier lives.

             🌍We were honored to host a delegation from Morocco during their Study Visit to Mass. The group toured our MCI-Norfolk facility and learned more about the programs we offer to provide our incarcerated population with the skills needed for successful reentry.

             🎉Big news! We’re proud to announce that MCI–Framingham, North Central Correctional Institution, Old Colony Correctional Center, and our Central Office have all received re-accreditation from the American Correctional Association this year!

             Old Colony Correctional Center and MCI-Framingham joined together with the @afspnational to hold Walks to Fight Suicide. Incarcerated individuals and staff walked side by side to honor those lost, support those struggling and raise awareness around suicide prevention. 💜💚
