The #ThamesBarrier is closing for the 4th time this week to protect #London from tidal flooding. Closure will take place from 12.45 until approximately 18.00. This should be the final closure of the week as tide levels are falling after the next high tide.

0159 Pager Alert. Both boats launched to assist @LondonFire at #Teddington Lock with 2 boats ablaze at entrances to barge & launch locks. Crew discovered & reported a 3rd boat on fire in area, dealt with by @LondonFire. Reasons for fires unclear. No casualties reported or located

⚠️ We are preparing to close the #ThamesBarrier for a second time this week. There is some uncertainty in the forecast, but a high tide combined with increasing fluvial flow is causing a concern for west #London. If it goes ahead, the gates will start to move at around 11.00.

A review of 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣8️⃣. 7️⃣0️⃣6️⃣ tides will have passed through the #ThamesBarrier. We issued 5️⃣8️⃣ Flood Alerts, for 9️⃣5️⃣ high tides in west London (Putney to Teddington) and 1️⃣0️⃣ high tides in central London (Barrier to Putney).
