Gas Benchmarks are well integrated into the testing pipeline now. Not only can we use the tool to guide gas limit increases, we can also validate releases before they go out! Everyone at @ethPandaOps had fun collabing 🔥 https://t.co/SBaQPFPLGo

Another benchmark performed by an independent team, on which @Nethermind is the fastest. Nethermind achieves even better results with larger blocks. We tested how different clients behave on 1 Gigagas blocks under realistic mainnet conditions. We will publish the data soon.
New mainnet @ethereum performance: nethermind: 288MGas/s reth: 235MGas/s @ethrex_client: 141MGas/s Ethrex ethereum execution client is approaching the other clients. We’re merging a few more relevant performance PRs in the days to come.

I wrote about why I think the repricing EIPs for glamsterdam are the most important and why we should prioritize them! tldr. Crucial: 7904, 8038, 8037, 2780, 7981, 7976, 7778 Important: 8032, 8058, 2926 Nice-to-have: 8011, 8059 (modified) https://t.co/KrCeUr8Omi

Modexp seems to be by far the worst offender in terms of ZK-EVM prover-unfriendliness; up to 50x worse than average blocks. We really should do an EIP to replace the precompile with computationally equivalent EVM code (which would cost more gas) Very few apps need modexp (it's

A major pitfall, when scheduling EIPs for a fork, is adding a myriad of small EIPs because "they are easy to do". EIP testing is never simple, and this played a big role in making Pectra so painful. Let's not repeat this again for Glamsterdam.

🧵1/ Today, SSTORE costs the same whether a contract holds 10 slots or 10 million. EIP-8032 changes that by tying write cost to the actual work performed by EL clients, discouraging unbounded state growth. 👇Here’s how it works: https://t.co/vlgO7EdQh1

Makes `SSTORE` gas cost scale with a contract's storage size to discourage state bloat.
