Now live: new #Meshtastic node ("BIW") on a @lilygo9 T-Beam with larger GPS Rx, two 18650 batteries (for back-up) and external Wi-Fi (MQTT upload); plus external temp/humidity/pressure sensor in white tube (not calibrated - sealed with Blu Tack). #Biggleswade

I built an experimental 120 degree horizontal V-dipole to receive the #SSTV images from the #ISS run by #ARISS. Ideal reception when the ISS was overhead. Not so great for off-axis. Clearly need proper Sat aerials!

SO-239 crimp connected with RG-223 plus a custom ground strap soldered on the body. Very good VSWR on 2 metres and 70 cms. Hopefully more flying-rat proof than a mag-mount on the roof! #AmateurRadio

Another project: Custom-made 2.5mm 304 Stainless Steel (probably overkill) bracket to fit a VHF/UHF co-linear aerial to a #Honda #Civic Mk8. Covered with chrome-effect vinyl to hide tool marks - and it was spare. #AmateurRadio
