All right, listen up: "Moses and the Doctor" is now available for pre-order. It's got Dr. J, Moses Malone, the ABA, playground basketball, Philly, Houston, Bird and Magic, and much more. It comes out on February 10, 2026. Let's go.

It's unbelievable how many right-wing grifters ran with this story. It was all I saw on my "For You" timeline for a week, and it was complete BS.

Nice, clinical NYT look at how thin the "Sydney Sweeney ad backlash" was when GOP influencers started hammering it. Just a handful of online weirdos who you would not otherwise use as the basis for a story.

Folks, this Sunday at 5 pm eastern I'll be doing a chat with Joe Posnanski's book club about "Our Team." I believe that you have to sign up to Joe's site to attend, but hey, he's a great writer and it's worth doing regardless.

I don't think that I'll be using this as my profile pic, but here's my author photo for "Moses and the Doctor." I'm happy with it. It's better than taking a selfie on my iPhone again.

It's both amazing and baffling that supporters of this president get enraged at folks spending food stamps on soda or playing video games while not having a job but are just completely fine with billionaires bearing gold gifts to our billionaire leader.

This story by Will Ferrell on how he came to imitate James Lipton, host of Inside the Actors Studio, on SNL is funny and slightly eerie. It’s from Judd Apatow’s book “Sicker in the Head.”

My grandpa had a debilitating case of mumps as a child that took away his hearing. If he'd been born just a little later when we'd had vaccines, his life would've been radically different. It's the height of stupidity that a bunch of conspiracy theorists are doing this.

Conspiracy theories are actively worsening the health of this country's citizens. Folks on the right, deep down, know this but are too spineless to do anything about it.

And yes, that's a prompt: Everyone who is sports-minded should read "Second Wind." It's one of the great athlete autobiographies.

It seems to me that nearly the entire country is suffering from a lack of book reading. Impossible to read Bill Russell's memoir, "Second Wind," and then state something like this.

The president is the only person who could talk about putting $10 million here and $10 million there and spin that into being a victim. Poor guy--what a rough life he's had. .

Trump on his finances: "I ended up going to small banks all over the place. I was putting $10 million here, $10 million there, $5 million, $10 million, $12 million. I have them all over the place . that's because the banks discriminated against me very badly."

My daughter loves "The Wheels on the Bus" so much that when she hears the opening chords, she reacts like someone hearing the start of "Free Bird" at a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert.

The New Yorker just excerpted a chapter from Kiran Desai's upcoming novel "The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny." Sharing it because it's one of the best novels I've ever had the fortune to work on. Look for it in September.

My copyedits are due back to the publisher tomorrow, so I'm doing what I assume every author does: obsessively reading through the manuscript, changing a word here and there, then changing it back.
