I was resistant to ligatures until I discovered Berkeley Mono by @usgraphics (and immediately impulsively bought it). Berkeley Mono has been a mainstay in my Emacs and personal websites ever since.
I used to agree on ligatures, but since I did pure FP starting ~12 years ago, I eventually shifted in my perspective. Now ligatures are among the first things I look for (and, interestingly, weren't present in <gt; prior to version 1.4.0)!.

Pro tip: Learn COBOL. It’s incredibly easy to learn, fun to code in, you get to use some retro / funky systems, job security for life… and the pay is great.

My ancestors worked their backs off to provide for us. The regime under which they spent most of their lives actively persecuted them for holding impermissible opinions such as "communists suck at economics". Why should the govt have a piece of their legacy?. Thief.
Inheritance tax isn’t “theft” from those who have built a “successful life and legacy”. It is a tax on those receiving a windfall of unearned wealth. It’s not “immoral” unless you think people’s life chances should be determined not by what they do — but who their parents are.
