"A huge percentage of those who make a living in the creative arts have ADHD. But so do a huge percentage of those in prison." An excellent read by @ShappiKhorsandi on the whole ADHD as a superpower myth https://t.co/cbLyjA2nAG

People may be told their condition is a gift. But that’s little comfort when looking back at a trail of destruction

Absolutely terrifying experience on my flight home yesterday! Informed the crew on arrival about my severe airborne NUT ALLERGY. I was reassured no nuts on the flight. THEN THEY GAVE EVERYONE FREE ALMOND BISCUITS!! I went into anaphylaxis and had to use 2 epipens on the flight😭

I felt so filled with rage after my traumatic birth in 2021 - and completely powerless at the same time. So many things went wrong - who was to blame? This is why: the birth trauma scandal is not about one bad apple, it's a whole broken system.
theguardian.com
When I gave birth in the 00s, things were not perfect by any stretch, but unlike now, they were not broken absolutely everywhere, writes Zoe Williams

NOW CLOSED. Thanks so much for all your pitches - I will read all of them but it might take me some time to get back to you all - so bear with!
I'm currently commissioning for the Guardian Opinion series 'why I quit'. Pitch me your stories of quitting - it can be something tangible, an idea, a place... but crucially must involve actually quitting. Link to series below. Email in bio!

This is clearly a child safeguarding issue. This family, including a 6yo, will be on the streets in two days. Where is the urgency? @IslingonBC @islingtongztte @CarolineRussell @Flo_williamson @jilanichy @JanetBurgess1 @nickwayne01 @TStacy_ @helencagnoni @IslingtonLabour
Hi @IslingtonBC @EmilyThornberry, a vulnerable mother of a young child is being evicted from her council accommodation next week and has nowhere to go. She made a homeless application on 7 September and has still heard nothing. This is getting increasingly urgent. Can you help?

Wrote a @guardian column on infant sleep and how it has morphed in our collective understanding from a biological instinct to a sign of parental competence - to the detriment of all new parents everywhere. Solidarity to all parenting sleepless children!

Expectations around infant sleep are often way off, says the Guardian’s assistant Opinion editor, Lucy Pasha-Robinson
