They aren't setting up a Qatari Air Force Base. They are dedicating a building to Qatari for them to use. Stop it. We've been training foreign forces in the US forever. I trained Egyptians, Libyans, etc in the 80's and yes, they had their own buildings on base to live in.
The U.S. and Qatar have reached an agreement to set up a Qatari Air Force base within the United States, located at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.

Good night all... I am glad for my new approach to X, logging on once or twice from a PC then gone. There were too many insane people losing their minds over a Qatar hangar or two being built is mind boggling. There are 2,000 total personnel in their air force. Probably 50

@NatashaCL7 No, it's a common thing. The Israelis have a facility within the Missile Defense Agency, The Germans have a training squadron downstairs from my squadron, and we have a Norwegian embedded with as a liaison for Norwegian students. This is nothing more.

Everyone screaming about the Qatar news today. Its not a new base for them so calm down. The huge base is already there and Singapore has had planes up since when Obama was president. Qatar will build a hangar or two for their pilots to train...Good grief....
