ENS team are not making good decisions in many departments however the product remains necessary for eth so fortunately it’s very hard to fuck up.

If you’re still bullish eth then ENS premium market is still inevitable. When price rose so soon previously I was surprised as when I registered I expected to hold 5 years until demand caught up. I remember when two letter instagrams were $40/50 on hackforums and they’re now $10k.

I’m just realising from replies the amount of people that thought their wallet wasn’t publicly available?.

Hey @nicksdjohnson what’re some of the obstacles of integration with platforms like exchanges and wallet providers? Is it technical or anonymity worries, what do they say to oppose using ens?.

@ensdomains have a look at how coinbase used to market new coins on the exchange with a video explaining its use and USP. 2 minute animated clip with voice over. Then run a shorter ad more frequently that includes ens use case and just the branding for relevancy.

Can we get this video deleted yet? @ensdomains. It’s insane just how bad you guys are at this. It’s such a simple product and so easy to achieve adoption through integration and simple educational marketing. You do so little and yet what you do produce is somehow so bad.

DAO should fund a team to run a wallet that allocates subdomains to company’s with a recognised .x.eth indicating the address has been verified.

Businesses on ens should be using a subdomain that they apply for and vetted by a team to ensure it’s the right wallet address owned by said company. For example apple.ens.eth meaning it’s been verified and not a scammer impersonating. solves squatting problem.

No there is no difference. Whoever owns it and is paying the renewal owns that name. It shouldn’t matter to you who owns which names on the network.

@homieeth_ @notfrydoteth @696_eth @jack There's a world of difference between jack.eth being owned by a different jack, and it being owned by someone selling it to the highest bidder, though. Doing that is legit, yes, but it enriches the speculator at the cost of the end user, and ENS as a whole.

Instagram has 2 billion users and no two usernames are the same. Find a different ens to use it’ll still be much much better than a raw wallet address.

You can buy an instagram/gamtertag but you don’t own it as it is always owned by the platform. The feature of nft’s (ens in this case) is that you do own it and it can’t be taken from you. Which isn’t friendly to entities with trademarks but that’s the trade off for ownership.

This is the premium ens market. It does not negatively impact ens’s ability to scale. Stop trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Ens is a simplification to using a long alphanumeric string. Not everyone gets to have a premium name just like social media and gaming.

This gives customers the peace of mind that they are sending to the correct address as it’s been verified. less likely to fall for scams such as sending to twittr.eth instead of twitter.eth as there won’t be a twittr on the .ens.eth system.
