I played a little bit, now I talk a little bit. it’s Baseball all day/everyday. @NESN @RedSox.

I'd be more interested in Okamato than Murakami. He makes contact
One player I wonder if the Red Sox could go after this offseason is Kazuma Okamoto, who is expected to be posted. - 2025 in NPB: 69 G, .327/.416/.598, 15 HR, 210 wRC+, just turned 29 years old - RHH with a 47.2 Pull% (MLB RHH avg- 40.8%, Red Sox- 39.1%) - Can play 1B, 3B, LF

Should the Red Sox sign Muntetaka Murakami? He struck out 29.5% of the time in 2024. 28.6% of the time in 2025. Plays bad defense. No thank you.

How did he swing it that day? Just stop.
@LouMerloni Jack Morris complete game 10 inning shut out in game seven of the World Series is the greatest performance ever

How did they do at the plate when they hit? Just stop. Sit back and realize what you just watched. It's never been done. EVER
@LouMerloni I’m sure everyone that’s ever thrown a perfect game or a no hitter would disagree.

Oh boy. How many of those guys were you mad about when they left? People wanted Bloom fired for not trading Sale when he could. 3 months later Bres did. Revisionist history

Who was that?
@LouMerloni On that I agree. Soto was a bad deal all around and the Sox were wise to not compete for that terrible deal but there is middle ground between Soto and letting the ex- Red Sox hurlers collectively represent one of the best pitching staffs in MLB because they refused to pay value.

That's who you actually want me to be so you can keep calling me a Homer. I want them to spend. As much as I wanted Soto, I thought that deal was stupid. You wanted them to sign him just to prove they'll do it. Then you would have killed them when you realized how dumb it was
@LouMerloni It's pretty simple Lou. You are taking fans to task for criticizing the Sox spending. I'm simply saying there is validity to the criticism. The numbers don't lie especially when you consider the Sox elite revenue and operating income position.

It will be better next year. It was only "weak" due to some big injuries...in your Division
@LouMerloni Agree to disagree man. We all want the same thing. The AL is wide open and now is the time to strike.

Good plan. It's going to be wild unless they Sign Bregman, Alonso and Cease on Day 1. Which we know won't happen
@LouMerloni Lou, I'm just going to sit back and relax until spring training starts... As long as the team has improved by then I'll be happy, if they haven't improved then I'll be angry

So you'd rather have Teel? You build farm systems so you can promote a few Rookies here and there and trade some away to make you better. Need balance
@LouMerloni Doesn’t always work like crochet. Just sign a guy and keep your young talent In the org. How would teel and Navarez look as a platoon? Pretty fucking good

Once you realize that it was a rebuild, you may sleep better. They weren't in the game once they traded Mookie. Last Winter was the first yr they got involved. Hopefully that continues.
@DeezJimmy77 @LouMerloni I just have ptsd from the past 6 offseasons lol

Of course. They should do both. But would you rather give Cease 8yrs or trade for Ryan, Greene or Sandy?? I'd rather trade but it seems like that may upset you.
@LouMerloni Never said it didn’t count against them spending but it’s a different version of spending. Extending your guys is great and I’m happy they have but you also have to acquire real talent in free agency too. It can’t just be one thing it’s gotta be a combination of both

Nobody is saying that they don't want to see them spend. But extending Crochet and Anthony count when it comes to spending. Yes, they need more and hopefully spend on bats. They can trade for arms
@LouMerloni I hear you man but you also can’t fault me for feeling this way after how they have acted in free agency the last 7 years. I’d love Joe Ryan but it’s more than him. They have to actually spend money on Schwarber or Pete or Tucker to improve the lineup

Why don't you wait and see what happens before you lose your mind. If they trade for Joe Ryan and then extend him, will that upset you as well?
@MarcosMimch269 @AndrewDwanMLB @LouMerloni The point is it can’t just be crochet. To get trade was great but they need to actually spend in free agency. Look at the dodgers. Snell, Yamamoto and shohei. You need elite pitching to win. Crochet is great but they need way more than him

So 6 yrs, $170 million doesn't count?
@LouMerloni I’m so sick of this discourse. Sick the Red Sox extended their OWN guys. Cool. They haven’t given out a long term contract since yoshida. They haven’t given out a long term pitching contract since David price in 2016. Extending guys so cool but you actually have to spend

How did you get that from my tweet you commented on? It's really hard to take you serious.
@LouMerloni So, we're going to pretend the last 6 years didn't happen Lou?
