Aren't "can't happen" and "contradicts" the same thing?
It's important to note however, that these images are strictly out-of-canon, and will often feature the characters in situation that either can't happen in canon or even contradict canon. For example, characters in Gensokyo being able to do a video ZOOM call.

The irony behind this is that the line could have aged surprisingly well because we don't know how strong a lot of the other champs,etc are at this point, their games happen years later. But like, Hoenn also takes place around this time,so Game Freak trolled Blue big time here.

i cant help but be slightly miffed that smash never tried a melee adventure mode thing again, it really does replicate the feeling of a crossover. Picking your favorite and traveling through the various series of nintendo Could be super cool now given how long its been but nope
