In '20/'21 biotech had an aggressive short-lived boom. Geoff noted “There was an enormous amount of companies that got funded on a dream, & ultimately 20 technologies focused on CRISPR-Cas-pick-your-number is not sustainable. The world doesn’t need that many companies like that.”

Despite positive signs, investors are displaying greater discipline, focusing on product candidates with substantial market potential & more advanced data. Geoff projects recovery will not be material for another year or more given the macroeconomic environment’s headwinds.
