LAI Recommendation: LPA. 25% of Indians have LPA >50 mg/dl, which has been linked to premature coronary artery disease. Delay in LPA testing might contribute to premature CAD and death in Indians. Identifying elevated LPA at an early age is imperative, as it allows preventative.

The LAI recommends assessing LPA at age 20 or earlier at age2, if there is a family history of premature CAD, hypercholesterolemia, or elevated LPA. 25% of Indians have genetically elevated LPA, which may lead to premature CAD if testing is delayed @atherosociety @society_eas.
