Disabled people are 20-25 percent of the population. Disabled people are not outliers. Disabled people are not a niche group.

How have you all been? Are you doing ok? I'm not really active on here anymore as it's not good for my mental health but I love this community and I hope you're doing ok ❤️❤️ #NEISvoid

Ideally, fat people would receive ethical, evidence-based treatments that were developed for fat bodies. At the very least, we should get the same treatment as thin people with the same symptoms/diagnoses.

A friend has been on the phone to 111 for 2 hours and no one has answered yet. Her son is ill and they're worried because of Strep A. It is absolutely appalling and terrifying this is the state of our NHS... And yet the tabloids want to talk about Harry and Meghan.

people stress the importance of having healthy communication skills - but part of being a healthy communicator is understanding that not everyone has a communication style that fits with ours. its up to us to discern if our respective styles are harmonious, or too much of a clash

A reminder... Masks and filters don't just reduce the chance of you catching Covid, they may also reduce the severity of illness. Think of the difference between eating one food-poisoned prawns and eating a thousand food-poisoned prawns. Reduce your initial viral load!

Apparently there's a nasty mystery virus going around that is a bit like flu in the early stages, but can cause strokes and heart attacks and kidney failure and trigger diabetes and fatigue and kill you. And here's the really weird thing about it... I mean seriously weird...

I wish some healthy/able-bodied people didn’t take it so personally when chronically ill/disabled people try to avoid getting sick. We don’t do it to bother you. We do it so we stay alive & don’t become worse. We need to protect what’s left of our health.

It's not so much that you "can't say" certain things anymore. It's that once you know the history of particular words and phrases you really shouldn't *want* to say them anymore and insisting on continuing to do so anyway is frankly just a little bit sus...

One of the crazy things about Covid is that it can do an immense amount of damage to *every* organ, to *every* system, to *all* body tissue that lingers after the initial infection. And it seems like that's too much for our brains to cope with.

In dysfunctional families: the emotional climate revolves around one person who tends to have the highest need for constant attention. Anyone who stops feeding into this pattern becomes the black sheep who faces rejection, shame, or ridicule.

I know you are tired of being reminded that the pandemic has not ended but please understand many of us are tired of having to keep reminding you.
