Can someone remind me, was it Ben Barres that took to stopping in the middle of his science talks, doing a slide on gender discrimination in the academy and then continuing on? Do I remember that correctly?

Thanks for sharing this.... even 23 years ago, I knew how lucky I was to have Ben as my first neuroscience mentor. An absolute gem of a person.
I had never seen this video before. It makes me sad knowing he is gone but also happy that his powerful message lives on. Thank you!

This is unnecessary confirmation that I missed out big by not having a chance to hear him speak in person while he was here. Of course, I’m lucky to live in the digital age where I get to see his talk anyways, but he and Stephen Hawking are the greats that I missed so far 😞
