Quick question for Pythonistas: How (un)Pythonic is it to subclass built-in Python objects like str, list, and dict? class MyString(str): pass It is possible to do it, but there’s significantly more friction than there is in, say, Ruby, especially for further subclasses.

What’s the best service to deploy small Python web apps (e.g., Flask apps)? I was planning to use @Heroku for @LearnEnough Python (partially for consistency with the other Learn Enough tutorials) but I’m concerned about its plans to eliminate the free tier. Maybe @PythonAnywhere?

The bad news: @heroku was down ( https://t.co/Sq1Uha9kel). The good news: We got email saying “We know the company got sold by you didn’t say you were shutting it down! 😭” The best news: We’re not shutting it down! 😀 https://t.co/ByAzoFL4U1

I've been loving the tutorial series that @LearnEnough has on #webdevelopment. I felt like other tutorials assume a lot of previous knowledge (even for the "absolute beginner" series'). But Hartl goes through everything! Check him out if you're struggling. #worththecost
