Next week is London Climate Action week 🌳🌍 ♻️. I'm excited to speak at the Reset Connect London 2025 conference with @SuttonCouncil colleagues!. Over 7,500 people have already registered for Reset Connect – it's set to be a key event!.

The social care system is struggling. Despite councils' best efforts, a decade of underfunding, soaring demand, and rising costs are forcing many to increase council tax and make difficult service cuts.

While the #spendingReview attempts to deal with some of the most pressing issues, all councils, including Sutton, will remain under severe financial pressure.

Underwhelmed by the Government’s Spending review. @SuttonCouncil is helping to drive London’s growth with the £1 billion Cancer Hub investment and further investment in homes and high street regeneration. We’ll continue to stand up for Sutton and build a successful future.

4/4 A roundtable discussion followed with residents, community groups, faith organisations & businesses. A great opportunity to discuss what's working well, challenges, and how we can all collaborate to improve transport in Sutton.

3/4 While Sutton town centre is well-connected, further transport improvements are vital for planned growth, especially in areas currently lacking good public transport. We stressed the need for more TfL funding to deliver this.

2/4 Sutton Town Centre and the London Cancer Hub are key growth areas, where transport improvements & investment are crucial for our major regeneration plans. We explained the importance of Belmont Station Levelling Up funded scheme & the need for more rail frequency improvements
