Overall, our findings indicate that women’s underrepresentation among scientific experts impacts the effectiveness of expert advice among citizens, in particular women – beyond its multiple other negative consequences for academia and society more broadly. 3/4

For our study, we draw on a survey experiment conducted among the Swiss population in 2019. 2/4
