Poland is one of the few European countries without a legally binding pathway to net-zero - which the ECtHR judgement now says is an obligation on countries to uphold their citizens' fundamental rights.

We first supported Małgorzata in 2021, when she and four other claimants took action against the Polish government for its inadequate response to climate change.

The appeal is based on the ECtHR’s ruling that the Swiss Government’s weak climate policy was a violation of the human rights of the KlimaSeniorinnen.

Today we announced that we're supporting Małgorzata Górska, a Polish citizen and nature conservationist, to take an appeal to the Polish Supreme Court.
