Here an overview of selected 2D material examples that can be studied using s-SNOM (details in future #fridaySNOM posts). This overview does not even include correlative neaSCOPE modes like KPFM, photocurrent, Raman, pump-probe, . Busy times at Neaspec but great things ahead!

Earlier this year we successfully delivered the first Liquid Cell Kit to AG Heberle (picture AG Kozuch) at FU Berlin and demonstrated in-vivo nano-FTIR on site -> the zoom-in shows water absorption around 1600 cm-1. 🧵3/4.

Nano-membrane approach pioneered by Keilmann et al (@CeNS_LMU): the AFM tip remains in air and the aqueous environment is “part of the sample”. Daring scientists can now potentially open new research fields in #LifeScience, #Biology and others! 🧵 2/4

Long thread but big deal for Bio & Life Science near-field microscopy: s-SNOM and nano-FTIR are now possible in aqueous environments! . This enables super-resolution nanoscopy of living objects, but label-free and with chemical sensitivity!. Read 🧵1/4
