Credit where credit is due:. Overcame an awful start, falling down 10-0. Justin Frye’s offensive line played a tremendous game without its best player. Jim Knowles’ defense did not allow a touchdown. OSU went into Happy Valley and beat the No. 3 team in the country, 20-13.

UPDATE!! When OSU coach Ryan Day heard about this on Thursday, he told Jim he would send a private jet to Iowa City. Jim boarded the plane at 6am today and made the 57-minute flight to Columbus this morning and WILL be on the call for Ohio State-Michigan.

Football aside, this makes me sad. Coombs is a great dude and has done tremendous work for OSU over the years. I'm sorry that it ended like this, but very grateful for all that he has given to this program & university. His legacy is strong and will be with us for a long time.
