Great things happen when you love the right woman. Truly thankful to my wife Grieta for an incredible year — everything has fallen into place. Thrilled and humbled to share that I've joined an NBA team as a Scout! Excited to keep grinding every day.

People ask me about the shooting variance. Teams went 10-for-32 (31.3%) on 3's against these traps. Went through each shooter's numbers on such shots (Spot Ups or Pull Ups) - averages of 34.2%. So 11-for-32 (34.3%) would be "fair". Pretty close to what actually happened.

Where it gets even more fascinating is how it extends OKC's two-for-one windows. SGA in the back court with 26 seconds remaining? Sure, he can pull up for a 3-pointer. OKC will just get the ball back and, perhaps, get another good look.

It was Game 49 of the regular season and the OKC Thunder were winning end-of-quarter situations where the opponents had the last shot. How is that even possible!? They (and others) stick to one defensive principle, which has changed NBA basketball. https://t.co/rDQHH6Qkyr

I got bored and turned the Moneyball scene with Brad Pitt into a Clippers related situation. You're welcome.

There was a lot of talk this offseason about how the Clippers would replace the scoring that Paul George supplied last season (22.6). Answer was to do it in the aggregate. The 19.2 uptick from Harden/Powell/Zubac combined with the 3.1 from Coffey basically gets you there (22.3).

Some behind-the-scenes thoughts on how the Doncic trade came about Why I also wanted to trade him - at least initially but not like this - while I was working for the Mavericks And how Nico Harrison created an environment that made the deal even possible https://t.co/ubyWlYfhns

JJ Redick on the 3s and NBA ratings discourse, parity, talent in the game today vs yesterday, and people paying too much attention to what is said on Twitter It's funny that he starts his answer with "I'll try to be brief here" and then speaks for 4 minutes

Buddy Hield's fit in Steve Kerr's offense has been seamless. The sheer gravity of him gave fits even for the league-leading OKC defense. Just like Steph, he doesn't even need to touch the ball. Golden State basketball. Still beautiful.

You have the ball, you are up 3 and there are 0.4 seconds left. Yet you end up with another overtime. Madness in Bratislava. Only like one of the 10 crazy things that happened here. #EuroBasket

So smart! A different way to follow @DeanO_Lytics idea that it's useful to play the math game and foul (when in bonus) to get the ball back. Dean was smart enough to compare this to how the Pacers attack earlier, smth @C2_Cooper wrote about. Almost like an inverse strategy.

Daigneault and OKC have been trapping when opponents have the last poss. of the Q. You take the ball out of a creator's hands. Worse decision-makers are forced to attack. Or they stall, coz they're used to play for the last shot. Always a chance you'll just get the ball back.

Derek Smith would have turned 64 today. At his best he could hang against the legends of this game. A unique story, which has always deserved more of a spotlight. @JerryEaves5, @JimMcIlvaine, @NdotSmitty and others know exactly what I'm talking about.

We can go on! Nov 20, '87. ATL@CHI. ATL with 10TOV in the boxscore. 7 turned out to be dead ball TOVs. Yet MJ was given 4 STLs. Tape shows only 1STL for MJ. @tomhaberstroh and me slowly became flummoxed about games where CHI had more steals than opponents had live ball TOVs.

With the @bballilluminati back and discussing a certain MJ project, @tomhaberstroh and me realized something. We never released the tapes... How about Jan 5, 1988? Indiana @ Chicago. Pacers had 17 turnovers, MJ had 4 steals in the boxscore. We reckon it's a single (1!) steal.

One way to measure a legendary defensive series. When your 31 blocks barely fit within the limit of 140 seconds. You could do an 1-hour long reel of Shawn Kemp (37.1 FG% for the series) and the Sonics hearing Dikembe Mutombo's footsteps on every other shot.

Dikembe Mutombo, an example of a truly great human being. Rest in Peace to a hero we all should thrive to emulate. A tribute, the only way I know how. All of his 31 blocks in a 5-game series to bring down the 1-seed Sonics. https://t.co/SueS3O95Em

Dikembe has impacted hundreds of players with his ability on the court but hundreds of thousands and generations of people from the Congo with his humanitarian efforts, time and love for improving the human condition for people. Strength is service to others and no finer example.
