Anyone understanding the industry knew back in 2018 that the NCAA opened Pandora's box w/ transfer portal changes and failing to adequately think forward (& implement necessary oversight/regulation). Add on (largely unregulated) NIL... the NCAA won't sustain it. Kinda sad.

Instead of creating merch, imagine if they just budgeted to have seasonal snow removal factored in to the payroll. I love sports, but the irony of cheap labor getting folks to shovel for a pittance when tix are hundreds to watch grown men play catch for millions is bonkers.

Most NCAA SAs don't go 'sport-pro,' they move on with their adult lives with (hopefully) outstanding skills in teamwork, leadership, etc. Let them. The continuing influx of money in the industry has really created some backwards values & ultimately disservices SAs long term.

I'm genuinely baffled by the possibility of the Patterson v NCAA ruling essentially giving a 5th year of eligibility to college SAs. Perhaps I'm missing something but... WHY? Extending eligibility infantilizes these young adults -

Furthermore - 1) If the coaches directed this, THEY should be on notice from the AD 2) Regardless of outcome, athletes should also be required to acknowledge their opponent post-game. I say this aware of post-game BS - but if you avoid sportsmanship, all you do is lower the bar.

I'd be mortified as a coach if my athletes did this. Immediately revoked 'C.' What's more alarming is that these are likely the captains - those intended to be leaders & set the tone for their teammates. Class act by the officials to address it respectfully & efficiently.

Honestly, 4 games is already too many. I'm old school on this one. This only further erodes the core purpose of college sports & reinforces creating ill-equipped young people for the real world. If you're that good & want to extend your career, hedge your bets & go pro.
