A baby who contracts HepB in the first year of life has a 90% chance of developing chronic HepB. A patient with chronic HepB has a 25% chance of cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer. We have no cure for HepB. For 30 years, we had a universal vaccine plan. Until today.
