Connecticut is investing in 60 next-generation cars with Wi-Fi, outlets, workstation tables, bike storage, panoramic windows, & an accessible restroom in every car. The mock-up is open for public tours through early January, & the first cars are expected to arrive in late 2026.

Yesterday I joined Mayor Elicker and DOT Commissioner Eucalitto to check out the new commuter rail car model at Union Station 🚆.

I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside Kevin Ryan since we were both elected in 1992. He was an ardent advocate for Eastern Connecticut & stood up for working families. Kevin’s personality was larger than life, and his quick wit and keen sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Congratulations to Tessa Hallinan, the 2026 @CTKidGovernor! Tessa’s platform focused on inclusion of students with disabilities, & I can’t wait to see what she does to work on that. Congratulations to 6 finalists and Kid Cabinet Members, Ajla, Alyvia, Dylan, Myra, Nana, & Samuel!

This morning, we announced 1,000 new spaces in our state’s Early Start CT Program beginning in January. Early childcare leads to fewer special education needs, higher graduation rates, & higher median incomes. These investments strengthen families, communities, & our state.

I joined New Opportunities in Meriden to donate & support families who are still feeling the effects of disrupted SNAP benefits due to the longest federal government shutdown in history. This is a difficult time for many, & we can make a meaningful difference by taking action:

Happy Halloween! 🎃 Connecticut agencies came together yesterday to help make sure the holiday is all fun and no fright. It’s a good reminder for drivers to slow down in neighborhoods, for parents to check costumes for visibility, & for trick-or-treaters to stay alert after dark.
