RIP Emlyn Hughes Liverpool's magnificent captain Emlyn Hughes died on 9 November 2004 at the age of 57. His career at Anfield spanned over 12 and a half year and he made astonishing 665 appearances for the club, winning nearly every possible trophy in England and Europe.

Tommy Lawrence's glorious career at Anfield came to an end on 8 November 1971 when he signed for Tranmere Rovers. More than 9 years passed between his debut and departure from Liverpool FC and he kept 133 clean sheets over that period. Still remembered, still massively loved.
