This waste needed to be emptied by our firefighters after it caught alight in a bin lorry in #Woolwich 🔥 The cause? A crushed lithium battery which exploded 🔋 Please don't bin your batteries and electrical products - make sure to always recycle batteries separately ♻️

Never chuck loose batteries in your rubbish. Even small batteries could cause fires when crushed. Always recycle batteries separately using a battery recycling service @recycleelectric @NewhamLondon

🧵🚨Starting from October 2024, we'll be changing the way we respond to some automatic fire alarms (AFAs) in non-residential buildings. It's important that business owners and responsible persons are aware of the changes and what they mean to them⬇️ https://t.co/gEMYL5aIiL
