We are very fortunate our three LAPD officers were not injured last night, and grateful this violent criminal is in jail this morning, unable to harm anyone else.

The officers requested help over their police radios and responding officers took the suspect into custody, also recovering the gun believed to be used to fire at the officers.

Last night, three Newton Division officers were in the area of Pico Boulevard & San Julian Street doing what we ask of them — working to suppress crime, when a suspect on a bicycle shot at them. Luckily the bullet did not strike the officers, hitting their vehicle’s tire instead.
