unpopular opinion but Sainz overrates himself as a driver. Someone like Ocon or even Gasly (who are both free after this season) can perform just as good if not better (Ocon) than Sainz. Sainz acts like he is a big fish with privileges like HAM, ALO, NOR or LEC

no great driver gets dropped from 2 teams (Renault, Ferrari) Sainz is good but not special. In my opinion he is in the Albon, Gasly, Ocon tier

why? Ocon was one of Alonso‘s toughest teammates and Alonso had class teammates. And excluding luck Ocon has the upper hand on Gasly who is decent too. Downside for Ocon is that he races his teammates too hard but Sainz too tbf

P4 in the 5th best car which is amazing. Alonso should have finished P9/P10 with his car
Hamilton finished P3 with the 2nd best car. It‘s pretty good but P3/P4 was expected. 2022 and so far 2024 tho has been very very poor. Clearly on the decline. He‘s still okayish tho

Not hating, just being honest. Piastri is good but looks like he’s nothing special, we would know by now. Imagine Mclaren were the 6th quickest car and Norris would be P10 and Piastri would finish P15 and 10 seconds behind his teammate. The narrative would be way different

Why would Sainz agree to a 1 year Merc deal to finish P7 and at the same time locks the door to Audi because they already have a driver line up by then. It would leave Sainz (if Russell beats him) with options like Williams and Haas

if Mcdavid wanted to score more points this season he easily could have. He has had no hat tricks all season and a lot of 2 point games instead of 4 or 5 point games. Around the Oilers and their core you can sense it’s all about Lord Stanley this year. This is their year!
