#ThrowbackThursday pic to me and my @UAlberta_FoMD Class of 2008 peers in Hinton for a rural skills weekend, circa 2005. These experiences are worthwhile recruitment opportunities for rural health care.

I struggle with finding the balance. My “days off” usually involve a fair amount of admin work. At least I got a long run in today 🤷🏻‍♀️

I see my friends and colleagues, near and far, with this struggle. It is not sustainable. We need to find solutions to support the women (and parents) in our social circles and workplaces.

For too long, mothers have internalized society’s idea that heroic balancing acts are simply par for the course – but amid so much COVID-19 uncertainty, we’ve finally reached our breaking point

Come work with us in Crowsnest Pass. Happy and supportive preceptors. Best views from hospital and clinic front doors. Single track running and biking trails 5 minutes away. New brewery between clinic and hospital for post work libations.

Today I was matched with two first year students who want to explore #RuralMed. Can’t wait to talk their ears off about why my job is the best and why I would choose it all over again.
Today #yycMDs’ Career Exploration Program matched our first year students to physicians in 4 different medical disciplines. The goal is to have a conversation about life in those careers - warts and all, so they can better strategize their career planning during medical school.

Just me again, wandering in my big backyard. #StayHealthyAB
How do you #StayHealthyAB? Show us! Maybe you sing a song while hand washing. Maybe you carry a tape measure for social distance during walks. Maybe you take regular walks outside. Sharing how you stay healthy helps us stay healthy together. https://t.co/v35OG9C6q7

Two weeks after I wrote this and I am still grateful for where I live, even in the snow.
Even during this challenging time, we’re lucky to live in this beautiful country. Thank you to those who have shared your stories with us so far, as part of our latest #WellDocAlbertaInviteToInput. We look forward to sharing more. #PhysicianWellness #WellDocAlbertaGratitude
