Huge congrats to the amazing Dr @KristiKallo for defending her thesis today. Such a fantastic body of work on straying behaviours in brown #trout. Redefining "the norm" in salmonids using a multi-method approach. And such a treat to be reunited with our @NoWPaS 2022 buddies!

New #publication alert! In the presence of #cormorants, #freshwater may not be a safe place for returning adult #seatrout. In this study we documented that by minimum 15% of adults were predated by cormorants, with majority being eaten in the river https://t.co/WZWmi6d9C8

Finishing off the behavioural ecology session with anadromous brown trout! We hear from @KristiKallo who tells us about straying behaviour away from natal rivers. 2/3 strayers were only detected in non natal rivers, 1/3 detected in natal and non natal rivers! #FSBI2022 @fsbi2022
