Yesterday our brand new #DECA chapter competed at the Nassau County regional event! Eight of our members qualified for the State Career Conference in March! Congratulations to everyone for their hard work! We at @mineolahs and @MineolaUFSD are so proud of you!

Day 5 of #APCSP: Learners will begin using Python. We will be working together in class using interactive @PearDeck to engage all learners. This presentation has AP questions, links, embedded videos and images to make the learning process clear to all! @MineolaUFSD

In #APCSP, students demonstrated their understanding of what an algorithm is by writing instructions to create a LEGO masterpiece. Then they swapped with their peers to test how precise these student-developed algorithms were! #MineolaProud @mineolahs!

Day 4 of #APCSP: #Algorithms in social media, our every day lives, and of course #CS! We watched a video to teach the importance of being thorough, and then re-did that challenge with #LEGOS. They switched algorithms, attempted to build each others creations, and then reflected!

Day 3 of #APCSP: Learners explored @kid_OYO’s #MazeCode! Once they completed all 24 levels, they were challenged to create a ”maze” using #BlockBasedCode that formed their own initials. It was a great that students were able to work at their own pace. #MineolaProud #KidOYO

Day 2 of #APCSP: Learners explored careers in Computer Science and Technology! They worked in groups and went through stations where they were able to see how careers in #ComputerScience and #Technology are so diverse. They also learned about artificial intelligence #AI 🤖
