We can now detect them (almost) as good as in the tdTom-Plin2 mouse with commercially available reagents! And we found an absolutely stunning number of #LipidDroplets in the normal aged mouse brain! Have a look at Figure 6/Suppl. Fig.5/6!

In summary, a great tool to study the role of LDs in the brain, from development, adult to aging! This will keep us busy for years!! π

@DoetschLab @denisjabaudon @LudovicTelley 1.) We generated a fluorescent LD reporter mouse by tagging endogenous Plin2 with tdTomato, resulting in red LDs in all the tissues expressing Plin2. We validated this model extensively under normal and short high fat diet.
