PSA: Self pity posts don't convert into sales. Everyone has their struggles. If your reply guy post is "I hope someday people will love my work like this" it's never going to happen. I will pretty much refuse to follow you or look at your work as will most collectors. It's a cold
Here is my thinking around Open Editions btw. They may seem a little silly right now but in 5 years, if that artist is still here & growing their brand, these little inexpensive OE's will be super liquid entry ways for the new people we onboard over the next 5 years.
Hot take: If a collector has spent over 100k on your platform and you are a senior manager at said organizations, maybe you should know who that collector is & follow them. It's almost irresponsible if you do not. I get why artists are mad cause collectors get zero respect too.
Back at it getting the pre flight airport beer. This will be my last trip for awhile but it's a big one. If you are religious please say a prayer for me. If not, please wish me luck or send some good vibes my way.

I also agreed to terms with a CEO for my day job company which gives me more time to work on

Last night

The amount of people who hope for a quick flip to make miniscule eth will never cease to amaze me.
Have patience and bet on great artists who have been here and continue to be here building their brand & improving their art through thick & thin.
Thank me later 🙏
People are trying to vilify people over their hot takes about pricing when everyone who is still here should be on the same team. Stop hating on each other and start appreciating each other. Also stop putting walls up between "artists" and "collectors" like we are enemies. Wtf.
It's crazy how many people acted like they were here for the art & for the long haul have disappeared. Many who made cash grabs of their own too
The market sucks so I can't fault them too much but that's not me
We keep building
Also I can see why RobNess calls people out🤣
GM - It's true, it's my birthday. We are having a pool day today with friends in the Klutch household. I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday wherever you are.
Happy birthday to one of our fearless founders
@Klutch_NFT

Thank you for your encouragement and for always pushing us to be the absolute best we can be.
We hope you have a wonderful day!
GM - it never ceases to amaze me how fast an artists' fortune can change in this space.
Sometimes it's settling into the style that finally hits home, sometimes it's landing one collector, sometimes it's the perfect retweet from a peer at the right time.
Keep going 💪
My wife made 32 dozen cookies this weekend 🤯. She is such an amazing mom and wife and I swear I am the luckiest guy in the world to have her. Also I plan on trying my best to make sure I can bring her to NFT NYC next time so you all can meet her too.
Just got back from dinner with my buddy

Art Collector Alpha - The more art you collect, the more you realize there is zero need for fomo.
There will always be more art. If you like it but it's not quite there for you, be patient. You will know it in your soul when you have to have it.
A year ago, I was pretty anti AI Art.
A year later, I find myself wanting a lot of AI stuff.
What crystallized it for me was having to explain to people how I believe NFT's will overtake trad art and almost every major collectable category.
One trick I found to overcome their

My transfer to Batz cost was $0.06 in total
Mind blowing 🤯

My poor little buddy ran into some barbed wire while sledding. At the ER now. I think he is going to be ok and luckily it just got his eye lid and not his eye.

I have waited a long time to get my hands on one of these beautiful pieces and when he finally released one as an edition rather than a 1/1, I knew I had to grab one. Link to follow if you are interested in picking on up.
I have been in love with this one from
@mindzeye
for a long time and am super happy to finally collect it with my brother from another mother
@GuyNorcal
.
Here are some receipts:
A case for editions -
How many other successful collectable categories are based on 1/1's? The largest categories are all editions to a degree. Wine, watches, sports cards, Pokemon, comics, bourbon, rare coins, purses, stamps, movie collectibles, cars, sneakers, trad art even.
Here is my take on criticising art btw. Yes we all believe some artists are overrated and I'm happy to debate the merits of work in private but publicly tweeting attacks against fellow artists is BS. We need more people here all rowing in the same direction, not less.
Reuben Wu - Here is why I placed a Provenance bid on
@Reuben_Wu
's latest auction piece.
First - How was I introduced?
We all have our DM groups we bounce thoughts off of. One of my closest circles is
@anocam_
and
@pravijn
. We debate art and artists all the time. 🧵👇
Alpha - Pay attention to who puts in the work to improve consistently.
Why do people bet on Elon or Bezos? Cause they have created companies that consistently improve and put in the work.
It's that simple. Bet on artists and founders who show up and put in consistent work.
Pro Tip for artists: Do not hate on other artists new ATH's. It's cringe AF. Other collectors take note & it's not a good note. That sale is the tip of the iceberg. A whole bunch went into it that you cannot see. i.e. Years of effort finding their style and honing their craft.
If you are just getting introduced to
@Darkfarms1
, let me tell you my experiences. They have been the kind of person who would give you the shirt off their back every second I have known them. They are always giving way more than they ever expect back. I have missed mints of

"Everyone buying the same grail artist is just a circle jerk" - GuyNorcal
As soon as you go from a collector to an artist/minter/founder, you quickly find out who really believes in and support you. You don't have to buy things from people to support them. A like, RT, GM post, etc helps. If you can't even do something like that one time
One thing I am learning lately is that there is a lot of great stuff being built right now in this community by a lot of great teams. When we come out of this bear, I believe we could rocket out of it cause the tools being made right now for creating and selling digital art are
GM - it's feeling like a
@seerlight
kind of morning to me. Here are some favorites of mine.
Let's focus on the art and being kind today. Hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday 🫂❤️.
This blows my mind too. Actually I might make it a point to check artist wallets in the future too.
Other collectors out there, do you care if an artist collects at all?
STILL BLOWS MY MIND THERE ARE SOME IN THIS SPACE WHO ARE ONLY SELLING DIGITAL ART (AND SOME OF THEM HUGE SELLERS) AND AREN'T INTO BUYING OTHER PEOPLE'S ART.
IT'S AS RIDICULOUS AS SAYING "I DON'T BUY OTHER PEOPLE'S MUSIC,"
THAT'S WHAT REALLY NEEDS TO ACTUALLY CHANGE.
I may have struck out on some art today but the wife and I are due for a baby in exactly one week 👀. Spent 10 eth equivalent on a Tiffany's diamond bracelet for my amazing wife instead.
Things I am looking forward to during the next raging NFT bull market:
1. People talking about their financial wins.
2. New characters entering & making big splashes with fresh bankrolls.
3. Artists getting consecutive new ATH's.
4. More people are crowned with OG status.
If you are hanging your life's potential outcome based on what others do (i.e. spending every waking moment trying to get this drop or that drop or not miss that burn) you are wasting valuable time not investing in yourself, in your own skills, or in building something yourself.
Gm - Another day, another crypto bro using his followers as exit liquidity. Be careful who you follow and take tips from. Also look at their actual wallet activity if you can or twitter search their name plus terms like "scammer" or things like that to investigate their past.
"Big league" investors will spend 100k+ on a single "early and safe power laws" piece and yet they are too afraid to invest $100 into an emerging artist which makes up 99.9999% of the rest of the ecosystem.
Seems weak
If you are feeling like you are at rock bottom with this whole art thing, read this thread for some inspiration and then share an available art piece and your story with me. I'll pick up a few pieces that I feel stand out 👇
The story of how this shoot from 2016 saved my photography career:
I had recently moved to LA and had a job as a production assistant. It required 12 hour days for next to no money and I could see the dead end from a mile away. With a few hundred dollars in my account, I quit. ⤵️
Hot take: 1/1's in the NFT art market are going to make up less than 1% of market share in a decade.
Reasoning: Look at sports cards. Look at the most commercialized trad artists with broad success. Editions make up all the volume.
Gm - Hot take for you all as I see some spicy morning conversations.
I don't like all works or artists or collectors either. But going after each other & putting others who are still here down publicly ain't it.
You are losing potential collectors & friendships because of it.
Say you made life changing money this cycle and to celebrate you wanted to buy 3 NFT'S you couldn't afford before.
What are you buying?
For me it's a Nakamoto, a nice Cryptopunk, and probably a Fidenza.
After that it's probably a Grant Yun, ACK, and Cath Simard 1/1.
Hot take: If you want to collect art, are new to the scene and unsure where to start, maybe don't collect VC money fueled PFP projects dipping their toes in art. Collect art shared by actual art collectors and artists themselves.

by
@batzdu
. This is probably one of my biggest wins. Why? Cause Batz gifted this to me to celebrate the birth of my son. I'll be regifting this one to my boy someday. And if he ever sells it, I am going to ground him for an eternity 🤣
Hot take: Too much of this space is short window timed events where if you miss them you are screwed out of value by a large amount.
People need to have lives too.
Editions will carry a premium value over a 1/1. Fact! People value Liquidity. Blur proved it. 1/1's don't have the liquidity an edition has at scale and when demand is present. You can fight this but you know it in your heart.
Gm - I'm going with one of my favorite pieces Childhood Wonder by one of my artists

Holy Guacamole, I thought this was going to be a one night event but it keeps going. So far I am up to 5 pieces purchased off this. I'll try to look through more replies tonight. If any other collectors want a good thread to look through, I found a lot of artists I wasn't

No one buys more actual art than the

collectors I am pretty sure. You have NorCal, Arti, GigaChad, VVD, 6529, Cryptinish, L1L2 & many more. Many of our artists are also prolific collectors. One might say we put our money where our mouth is about supporting art.
GM y'all. A healthy diet and exercise starts today. My goal is to lose 5 pounds by Marfa. Speaking of which, if you are going, please reply and let me know.
We do a little shopping. All these editions are now available if you are interested in any of them. Also I will still be doing some shopping to whoever replies to this tweet:

I just want to say thank you to all the great people I have met and befriended in the last year. I feel like I have found my online tribe in the last year.
I mostly let 2022 come to me but I'm going after 2023 hard. Big announcements are coming soon 👀
