I track new studies related to Large low-shear-velocity provinces.and their relation to the changes in the Earth's magnetic field (SV= Secular variation).
Study: Core flow varies beneath LLVPs over time. While LLVPs contribute to Secular Variation (SV), the region outside them is the biggest source of SV energy. The African LLVP contributes ~3x more SV energy than the Pacific LLVP at Earth's surface, but only ~1.3x more at CMB.
