What looks like barley scald or herbicide damage could actually be "leaf scorch"caused by Neoascochyta spp.Misdiagnosis=unnecessary spraying + increased risk resistance .Get the diagnosis right before reaching for fungicides. @DPIRDbroadacre @GRDCWest @Stirlings2Coast @theGRDC

Loose smut alert in Frankland.Neo CL barley shows LS infection despite Vibrance dressing. One LS head can release millions of spores-wind borne risk is real. Missed coating=vulnerable seeds=infected heads. Seen similar cases last year. @Stirlings2Coast @GRDCWest @DPIRDbroadacre

Triple threat: NFNB in WA.Location specific management essential, especially under high disease pressure & conducive conditions. Mixtures epoxi+ pyraclostrobin;prothio+ bixafen;mefentrifluconzole+ fluxapyroxad are good. (Source:CCDM)@Stirlings2Coast @GRDCWest @DPIRDbroadacre

Barley NFNB resistance found- Act wisely. Localised resist to 3MOAs in SStirling. Limited now-but vigilant key. Use NetBlotchBM app; rotate fung MOAs; mixtures;avoid using same active 2x one season;spray when necessary.Protect WA Barley @Stirlings2Coast @GRDCWest @DPIRDbroadacre

Spotted near Kendenup: Tiny mushroom like apotheciaum quietly unleashing waves of ascospores. Fungicide action needed 20 - 50% flowering for protect canola & lupin. Yes they can be detected now. @DPIRDbroadacre @GRDCWest @Stirlings2Coast

When rainfall fuels diseases, early detection becomes essential. Warning growers! Kendenup site WA chocolate symptoms appeared right on cue. Thanks to spore traps and real time inputs from Data effects. Now time to spray. @GRDCWest @Stirlings2Coast @DPIRDbroadacre

Right now some of the regrowth barley and oats carrying full of net form net blotch and septoria avenae blotch. If you don't deal with this now those diseases will spread to new crops in the area. Spores can travel long distances. @DPIRDbroadacre @Stirlings2Coast @GRDCWest
