Enjoys to explore the various parts of GB, either by train, by bus or by foot. Train Guard by day (and by night if on a late shift lol)
East of Salisbury.

Today was interesting, a signalling fault in the Chandler's Ford area meant the Romsey - Salisbury rounders were being diverted to run nonstop to Eastleigh via Southampton Central, reversing at Eastleigh to call at all stops back to Salisbury. Speedy 158!

159019 at Waterloo on the 20;50 (SO) service to Salisbury. Not actually as bad as I was imagining for a Saturday evening Sprinty.

After a long weekend, it was back into work this morning for day 1 of 6 early shifts, involving 1O24 to Salisbury (been a while since I last visited Frome in the daylight), before 1L32 & 1L33 to London & back.

Today I had a little canal stroll from Tame Bridge towards the Chasewater reservoir, coming across the remains of the South Staffordshire Line at the eastern end of the McClean Way path, near Brownhills (a path I believe is getting extended towards Lichfield?).

I think with the weather forecast and Storm Amy it will be safer to postpone my trip to Scotland this weekend 🙁.

And that's September all done. Scary how 2025 is entering the final quarter. 159019 at Salisbury station after detaching from the late running 21;20 Yeovil Junction service. Got caught up with the fun and games at Basingstoke earlier

With engineering works closing the lines to the west of Southampton this weekend, the Romsey rockets have been turned into Romsey shuttles. Day 2 involved 3 such shuttles with an ECS move between platforms at Romsey.

Remains of the 'mothballed' Stoke to Leek railway line on a couple of the bridges where it crosses the Caldon Canal. Looks like it's a mysterious path not shown on the map.

Random spot at Rugby this morning with 320413 (I think) on the 5Q06 09;14 Wolverton Centre Sidings to Yoker C.S. service. Not the best photo of said unit as a Manchester bound Pendo passes it a few miles north of Rugby.

Today I'm making the most of the sunshine to head towards Lincolnshire for a short (around 7 miles) disused railway line walk. Onwards to Newark with the 09;06 LNER service to York for my first trip behind a 91 since Sept 23.

At a time when it seems everything is increasing in price, it was a nice surprise to see my car insurance renewal invitation has dropped £70.

Day 1 of 7 early shifts starting with morning cover, picking up a turn due to sickness. Driving into work in the dark felt strange, at least the roads were empty at 4am.
