My brothers and I still refer to our parents as "mommy" and "daddy" when we talk about them. We're Italian, mostly Spanish. I thought this was normal but an Aussie friend heard me speaking to my brother and it blew his mind.

It’s always the people who don’t live in NYC talking the most shit. Go back to your boring town and leave us alone. New Yorkers have survived way worse. The city in the ‘70s and ‘80s was chaos and New Yorkers made it through. This commie is just a blimp on the radar.
