Our first ever red heifer 😍
This little lady is out of a 10,900 litre cow who did 810 kgs milk solids in her last lactation & has a 12 month grandson available now.
We’ve wanted a red heifer for ages & we couldn’t have asked for a better (or milkier!) bloodline to kick off with!

The cattle took a backseat last night as we celebrated Granny’s 100th birthday. She and Grandad founded the Kilsunny Farm in 1949 (with the purchase of six acres and 4 cows) and we’re still farming on the same site three generations & 72 years later.

We milk all year round so always share cows calving after the Spring. According to Teagasc 25% of dairy cows calve from April - June every year but if you were to look at social media you’d swear every cow calved in February. Food for thought when deciding who to follow online.
