“Mums, midwives, solicitors, barristers and judges are all telling us the way we do this is inhumane. It is no way to provide justice. Everyone agrees, but it still keeps happening.” - Lisa Harker, Director, NFJO Read more from @guardian

Charity finds ‘inhumane’ system is forcing women to defend themselves in court, sometimes from their hospital beds, while in fear of having their newborn child taken from them

Does anyone know of any Knowsley charities/organisations that can provide a xmas food hamper for a family I support who are struggling financially? They are not involved with children's services. It's 2 adults with 3 teenagers and a dog.

Just spent a lovely morning returning to my college to lead a PD session with counselling students. It felt rewarding; sharing my learning, a year into private practice, as well as listening + learning from their experiences, too.💜 #reflectivepractice #therapy #LearningJourney

Such a powerful film. Cried watching it. So frustrating that people can't get the right care from the NHS.
Tonight we saw the honest truth about the real challenges that carers face day after day, looking after those they love. Kate Garraway’s documentary gave a true insight into the issues faced by patients and carers alike, battling our healthcare system to meet their daily needs.

Good news that sentencing guidelines are changing. Systemic change is required rather than a pre- sentence report author change. Don't think I ever recommended custody for a pregnant woman, but judges still sentenced them to prison even when not assessed as high risk to others.

Coming soon - relaxation classes in St Helens. This is not therapy. Classes will be suitable for anyone affected by personal or work stress. It will include guided meditation. I intend to run the first class as a workshop to get client feedback to shape future classes. 💜
