Hello! It’s been a while since I used this platform, however will no longer be actively engaging here. I’ll miss reading and interacting with amazing people, but I just don’t think this platform is a safe and inclusive place. Hope to find you all on LinkedIn to keep in touch!

I am not a Care Leaver. I am Care Experienced. Please stop referring to me by a label my corporate parents gave me to stop having to support me. I’ll say it again. I am not a Care Leaver. I am Care Experienced.

There’s a minor reference to Youth Work, the National Youth Work Strategy and recommendations from the Interim Youth Work Board on page 29. Other references to the YEPF and the inclusion of Youth Homelessness on page 23 & 27. Read up and see what you think? 🤔

This strategy does not go far enough. I have been around long enough to remember every promise, policy, guidance, strategy announced by @WelshGovernment since 1999, yet here we are in 2024 with child poverty the highest it’s ever been in Wales. It’s beyond disappointing.

One of the saddest moments in my time as a parent and educator was when my son was 6 & I asked him how many books he had seen in school with 2 dads. His answer: "None" What message does it give if children don't see families that represent their own?
