It was weird writing a post-pandemic book while living through a pandemic. But it’s much more disturbing to still be working on this dystopian novel while America becomes one and the same. https://t.co/efEVhVRs6M

Reading books in public is a power move, in my opinion. You’re mysterious, cultured, and ignoring everyone’s nonsense.

I heard this bit of advice in writing lecture and it always stuck with me: make your plot simple, and make your characters complicated. You should be able to write out your plot in one sentence. Everything else that happens should be because of your characters' decisons.

Novels are built in the revision stage. 🛠️ Your first draft is like the scaffolding of a house you're building. You won't paint the walls or polish the floors until the framework is solid. It's the same for your story. Revision is all about ensuring the core pillars are in

If you’re someone who still reads for pleasure, you are a marvel. If you’re able to unplug from all the chaos of our entertainment culture and disappear into the warmth and solace of a book, that is a rare gift and I’m very glad to know you.

It's 2025, so why do so many female protagonists still feel cliché, flat, and one-dimensional? If you want to write female characters who are believable, authentic, and multifaceted, ask yourself these key questions. 🧵

“AI will allow regular people to write & make films.” What the fuck are you even saying? Regular people have always been writing & making films. What you’re talking about is finding loopholes & not doing the work in order to label yourself a filmmaker or writer. Bitchmade shit.

Each publication is unique in both story and experience and getting to out all of my memories down into something less chaotic has felt like a gift to myself. Mostly nostalgic meanderings over on Substack! https://t.co/BFpyP3nf4p
